About Us
The Central Cooperative Fund is a special-purpose fund made up of contributions from cooperative societies. At the end of each accounting period, every cooperative Society contributes 5% of the surplus resulting from its activities, operations, investments, and other sources.
Established by law under the Co-operatives Societies Act, (CAP 442 of the Laws of Malta), the Central Cooperative Fund finances programmes, including education and training relating to the promotion and development of the co-operative movement for members of and personnel engaged by co-operatives and other persons who may actively contribute to the promotion of the co-operative movement. It also commissions studies and research on particular areas of co-operative activity or any individual co-operative society in Malta.
The Fund is regulated by the Central Co-operative Fund Regulations, 2016.
